Part D helps cover the cost of your prescriptions. You can get it as a standalone plan or bundled with a Medicare Advantage plan.

How to keep costs lower
- Use a preferred pharmacy when possible.
- Ask about generics or lower-tier alternatives.
- Confirm your exact medications and dosages are on the plan’s formulary.
When you can enroll
- IEP: Around your 65th birthday.
- AEP: Oct 15 – Dec 7 (changes start Jan 1).
- SEPs: Certain life events (move, loss of coverage, Extra Help/Medicaid).
